Start-up SEPAL has unveiled the SEPAL in Shark Tank, a novel canopy meant to protect motorcyclists from all kinds of weather, including sun, rain, wind blows, and severe temperatures. Built with robust fibre-reinforced plastic able to resist speeds up to 120KmpH, this invention provides riders with all-around safety. They say they are the first of their kind on Earth. In 25 States in India, SEPAL is used; it has also been exported worldwide.


SEPAL also turns a bike into smart bike so users may utilise buttons to control the phone screen. It covers phone calls, navigation, etc. Any person will find SEPAL straightforward to install. Although the company priced SEPAL at ₹10,000, founders say it is conceivable to sell this for ₹5000 with more manufacturing quantities. In the seven months after their launch, their lifetime sales come at 1000 pieces. Yesterday, they sold 160 units. Their final three months’ numbers were at ₹10 lakhs, ₹12 lakhs and ₹13 lakhs for months on June, July and August separately as the pitch was set for September 2022. They anticipate net of 17% while their gross margin is 37%.

Founders revealed that they had also made a prior investment of ₹2.2 Crores at $3 million valuation, which equates to roughly ₹22.5 Crores. This also was carried out in 2022. Deal: After negotiation Peyush Bansal finished the deal at ₹50 Lakhs for 2% equity.

Investors: The investment came from Peyush Bansal.
